The purpose of the position is to assist with achieving the business objectives by supporting EHS initiatives, implementing KC EHS policies and EHS Management systems. The EHS Manager will provide assistance to ensure that the relevant Teams meet all legislative requirements for Environment, Health and Safety. The position is the main point of contact for EHS at all levels of the specific Departments. Ensure that EHS systems are maintained and EHS KPIs are met. This role acts Crisis / Situation Coordinator and drives processes and protocols and supports the OH Nurse / Doctor closely. Another key deliverable is to drive the EHS maturity.  Work closely with the Facilities Management team to drive the safety culture in the Plant, a culture of accountability and consequences. This role is part of the Facilities Management Team that drives strategy in the Plant.

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure that the KC EHS management system is being consistently applied and all objectives are achieved.

  • Input to the Plant EHS 4-year glidepath in alignment to the OGSiM - Plant Ambition

  • Assist with the completion of all EHS self-assessments and support the annual MEA EHS plan driven by global.

  • Consulting and give guidance to the Plant and Contractor EHS committee monthly meeting.

  • Ensure active monitoring and EHS auditing by using the Audit checklists Reports generated by area owners on NCR’s from audit checklists.

  • Audit compliance to statutory inspections for Boilers and vessels as applicable.

  • Report on compliance on all EHS schedules, LSW and inspections.

  • Ensure all Risk Gemba's within the site are attended to on a weekly basis, audited base on the evidence rated, recorded and Safety job cards are completed by area owners and actions managed.

  • Administer and provide analysis and reporting of stats on ETQ EHS events module system

  • Coach and mentor EHS Officers and SHE Representatives who have a strong dotted line of responsibility to the EHS Manager.

  • Support and Drive the internal and external audits to be done within the Different Operational sites within MEA as applicable.

  • Support with Contractor Management Control with regards to the contractors on site plan audit.

  • Incorporate the Lean principles in the daily EHS activities

  • Conduct follow up on the status of and assist with the closing of all Departmental Audit findings by using the CAPA System.

  • Communication of all EHS procedures and other types of communication

  • Ensure and Drive EHS monthly team talks.

  • Administer and update Legal appointments.

  • Advice and support managers to review/update and facilitate HIRA’s/TRA’s/WI’s.

  • Maintenance of EHS risk register ELC.

  • Ensure all EHS related procedures are reviewed and updated and these changes communicated to all.

  • Driving and monitoring EHS awareness campaigns and initiatives (EHS posters/EHS week / Team talks)

  • Drive reduction programs for Environmental/Water, Energy and Land Fill of waste.

  • Manage the waste management Process and vendor, process waste sales on time.

  • Arrange for GRC / Legal Audits and Health and Hygiene surveys per operational Site, also support social compliance audits as per standards.

  • Dimensions / KPI’s Key Interfaces

  • Achieve all EHS Objectives as per the MOTHER A3 / OGSiM- EHS Maturity Glidepath

  • Contractor and Project Management to be supported and adhered to, for Compliance.

  • Full compliance to Country Regulations and KC Performance Standards

To succeed in this role, you will need the following:

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in EHS Management / Engineering or Diploma in EHS Management

  • NEBOSH – essential

  • 5-10 years working experience in the EHS field, with a focus on all three areas of EHS.
